When the internet was invented, it was seen as a revolution in technology. It was changing how people think and work. Social Media, which was a part of the revolution, was to change how people use marketing tools in a new way.

This November, CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) – one of the top PR consultancies in UK will set up a conference which will be based around the themes covered in the CIPR’s best selling business book “The social media handbook for PR”.

This should be a good chance for expert Senior PR and communications directors and managers from all commercial enterprises, in-house and consultancy, NGOs, freelance practitioners from across the UK to have a discussion in depth about the new marketing communication tool, which in fact can help organisations to engage with markets directly in two-way conversations.

There will be a huge number of experts in various sectors who will cover aspects of social media including BBC’s Director of Communications – Paul Mylrea FCIPR, David Bailey from Staffordshire Police, Penny Fox and Elayne Phillips from Defra, Metrica’s Richard Bagnall, and Marcus Gault from Precise. The keynote speaker of the conference will be Robin Pembrooke, who is Head of Online for ITV and Global Radio. There will be a case study presented around Social Media as Networks and Platforms, Mobile and Location, and Understanding Social Media Analytics and Measurement. There will be further discussion and Q&A for attending guests.
